Some players with powerful Intel CPUs may occasionally experience crashes or memory-related errors while playing HIRAETH. We’ve investigated and found the issue is not tied to the game or Unreal Engine directly, but often caused by aggressive CPU configurations on certain motherboards.

The problem and the effectiveness of the solution have been confirmed by Hiraeth players in the Community Activity and on Discord.

🧠 Affected Known Processors:

• Intel Core i9-13900K / i9-14900K, Intel Core i7-13700K / i7-14700K

⚠️ Symptoms:

• “Out of video memory” crashes despite having sufficient GPU VRAM
• Crashes during loading assets or shader compilation
• Sudden game shutdowns under heavy system load
• Very bad fps/performance

🛠️ What to Check (and Fix):

• Update Windows and GPU drivers
• Reset BIOS to Safe Defaults

Choose manufacturer profiles like:

• Intel Baseline Profile (ASUS)
• Boxed Cooler (MSI)
• This lowers CPU power limits to stabilize performance
• Tune with Intel XTU
• Reduce core clock multipliers slightly (e.g. P-Core x55 → x51)
• Apply undervolting (e.g. -0.110V) to improve thermal behavior
• Disable Auto Overclock Features in BIOS
• Turn off MultiCore Enhancement, ASUS Performance Enhancement, etc.
• Monitor Temps and Power Draw

Overheating or extreme power spikes can cause instability even in well-built rigs
